Breathwork for Children

An Enriching & Nourishing Inner-self Activity

Benefits

How can children benefit from breathwork?

Through the power of one's breath, children gain a relaxed headspace which leads to a relaxed and emotionally regulated body at school and at home. Children who participate in this enrichment activity learn conscious breathing exercises. Children can benefit from decreased stress, better management of anxious feelings, slower heart rate, lower blood pressure and feelings of happiness contributing positively to mental and physical states of their overall well-being.

The International Breathwork Foundation reported that students who are immersed in daily conscious breathing strategies, learn to rely on their breath as a self-management tool to aide them in life.

Proven benefits include:

  • Clears and focuses the mind preparing children for sustained mental effort like homework, testing and other activities that require mental stamina

  • Improves self-regulation and self-containment

  • Reduces need for ADHD medication

  • Raises self-esteem

  • Helps foster class cohesion

  • Reduces bullying

  • Reduces stress, worry and anxiety

  • Raises reading and performance scores

You're Never Too Young to Consciously Breathe

This student of Breathworx614 built awareness of her emotions and learned how to use her breath to achieve a calm and balanced state of well-being.

She found great success using her breath when horseback riding, so much so, that she created this poster to display at the Franklin County Fair. She taught other riders and fairgoers Mindfulness and Breathwork Techniques to promote self-regulation. Way to go!

How Do Children
Consciously Breathe?

Got a fast talker? A child challenged to slow their body and be still? Or a child who has difficulty expressing their emotions in a healthy manner?

A routine practice of Breathwork slows the body and mind, builds attention stamina and self-confidence! Watch to observe what Conscious Breathing looks like for children.
